Searching For a World That Doesn't Exist

Inspo: The king in yellow is quite a fascinating concept. If you haven't already, watch the Wifies series: Part 1, Part 2.

It's a bit complicated, but essentially, if you simply look at this Yellow Dude in a play, then your mind will be flooded with an infinite amount of knowledge. So you die and go insane.

That's completely wrong, though. You see, if you believe in determinism, to have "infinite knowledge", you must essentially know the current/initial state of the universe to an unlimited precision. However, this isn't physically possible. Each atom in your brain (and the universe) requires at least a cell (or millions of atoms) to be represented in your thoughts - Extremely simplified. So essentially, you physically cannot have this much knowledge. That's why laplace's demon is supernatural. Something like the King in Yellow cannot physically EVER exist in this universe, through contradiction, in the same way that the Set of all Sets that don't contain themselves cannot exist (crazy pull).

What is Real?

So, this means that even though YOU and I might believe in determinism, the universe to us can never truly appear deterministic, simply due to us not being able to know the initial condition and chaos obscuring the past/future.

For all we know, we could be a brain floating in space, hallucinating our past memories and experiences, simply existing in a single moment. You can try to disprove that. Oh wait, the universe is chaotic, so you CANT :P. Given our initial conditions A, and our previous (like 1 plank second ago)'s condition as B, P(B | A) or the probability that the past existed given that A currently exists is 0.99999999999... But, it's not 1 - the hallucinating brain proves otherwise. Chaos deems it impossible to guarantee.

Statistics schmatistics. We all hail to statistics, yet according to it, the Big Bang should have never happened. According to some scientists, the hallucinating brain is more likely to exist from quantum fluctuations than a big bang is to spawn. How come we're picking and choosing what statistics to follow nowadays???

Then what do I do?

I don't know. If the past ain't real, and the future ain't real, what is there to do chat?

Perhaps, live in the moment. It's only logical.
