Meaning
Life
I've been thinking about this quite a bit. What is the point of all of this?
The intelligence economy is about to end. AI has genuinely ended research. Math could end up actually not being elegant. There are genuinely frontiers that us humans will reach, but may potentially never truly understand. Source: OpenAI js ended math by solving Navier-Stokes and 340+ other open problems.
It's simply foolish to stay in school. The degree means nothing.
The story of two dogs
Credit: 3Blue1Brown @ HackMIT 2026 (keynote). Suppose there are two dogs. One dog spends their entire life sleeping, eating, and cuddling with their owners. They're given free food, a place to live, and love. The other dog runs passionately, plays fetch, chases the ball, and barks louder than Sam Altman claiming that AI is going to bring eternal bliss. Yet, this second dog has the same owners as the first dog, gets the same food, sleeps in the same bed, and chooses to not be comfortable. On their deathbed, the lazy dog asked the working dog, "Why?"
And that is a great question. Why put oneself through struggling on purpose? The dog didn't need to chase any prey - food was given. The dog didn't need to scare predators - it was in the comfort of a home. So, why? Well, maybe the point of life isn't safety, maybe the point is suffering. The dog chose to run because he enjoyed pushing himself, even if it was to no avail, because it genuinely made him feel alive.
The analogy
This is analogous to how we choose to understand and build in the AI era. Legitimately, one does not need to understand to build a system nowadays. All of our intelligence is being outsourced to AI. From every assignment in college to every day of work, we are now condoms for Claude. And this is genuinely scary. I cannot imagine a world where I don't have to think. It seems unfulfilling. So what can one do?
Finding true meaning
My new way to look at life is sorta like a game of Minecraft. Imagine that pre-AI, us humans lived in "survival" mode. The goal was to make tools & armor (intelligence) and collect materials (knowledge) so that you can build stuff and stay alive. But post-ASI, we will have infinite resources, no hunger, and if one found meaning through survival or thinking beforehand, then that meaning is simply erased. It's "creative" mode now. Yes, IMHO, creative is boring AF compared to survival (I love me a good horror modpack). But that doesn't mean there isn't cool stuff you can do in it, right?
Travel. Meet people. Try out new things. Simply just live in the moment. Y'know. This is probably the best way to cope with this. Just try to truly be grateful to be alive, to be thankful, because "the universe said I love you because you are love". Genuinely stop giving a fuck, go out, and do what you want.
My cope
I guess, if I'm going to spend the rest of my life being a condom to Claude, I'd rather do it with some equity. So I'm trying to join or build a startup.
